Happy New Year, Everyone!

Man oh man, it is good to be back ! I've truly missed my blogging buddies, and I pray that this new year has welcomed you with a renewed and revitalized palate for life. One thing that I can say for sure, is that this new year has come equipped with a brand new appetite. Thus, I am very excited to share my 2017 meals with you!

If you remember, when I began Dri's. Deep. Dish , I had the vision of incorporating my travel experiences into this blog. Well this year, that vision has become reality, and today I present to you my very first Taste of Diversity post! I have decided that these specific dishes will compose of 5 courses to include: The meal (experience), my favorite ingredient (moment) of the trip, whether I would make an "Order to go", the chef selections (pictures), and finally your input, the review!

God has blessed me with the opportunity to travel to quite a few places in my life both national and international, and it is my desire to share those experiences with you. So, I have decided that I would begin this serving section with my most recent travel to the city of Chicago, you know home of the original {deep dish}... So go get your plates ready, it's time to eat !

And.. If you don't know by now I'm talking 'bout Chi-Town - Kanye West

The Meal

Well, it wasn't quite a windy day when I touched down in Chicago, during the concluding days of this past October. I was expecting to be literally blown away from my walk to the airport to the car, but instead, I remained steady on my feet and ready to start my Chi-town adventure! So why was in the Windy City? I was visiting my line sister, Maya. Now, what's ironic about this, is that Maya actually helped create the name of this blog {Dri's. Deep Dish}, and now resides in the city of the original deep dish pizza, and of course Kanye West lol. She is the biggest Yeezy fan I know, and if I didn't know any better I would say she moved there for this reason alone LOL.

Ok, now back to the trip. Let me just say, Chicago is a pretty cool place. While I was there, I was able to indulge in the touristy things that all people visiting Chicago must do. Some of these things include: Eating deep dish pizza, visiting The Bean, and taking a stroll through Magnificent Mile. We also had drinks at Cindy's, a roof top bar in the city, in which the view was absolutely breathtaking! For a night cap, we visited some various bars in River North...fully dressed in our holloween attire.

Favorite Ingredient

So my favorite ingredient, or moment, of the trip hands down was being able to witness World Series history! One thing you should know about me is that I really love sports, so to be able to celebrate with the Cubs as they won, at the time, the third game of the series was so phenomenal. And yes, I was present right in the middle of all the action at Wrigley Field. Don't worry pics to follow!

Order to Go ?

So would I suggest a visit to Chi-town? The short and sweet answer is, Yes. Chicago is a vibrant city, packed with things to do for all ages and ethnicities. Also, if you are into art, Chicago is the place to go. The art scene in Chicago is poppin ! I personally can't wait to go back some time this summer. I heard summer time Chi is so gorgeous !

Chef Selections

In the comments section below, I would LOVE to hear about your time in Chicago!

Until next time.

Always served with love,

Dri ♥
