Aloha, Ladies and Gents! Wow, wow, wow I literally can’t believe it’s the last day of September. Where has the time gone, my goodness! Any who i’m so excited to present such a flavorful meal to you today! So, let’s dig in shall we :)
The Meal
So who got ya girl to go to Hawaii? The answer is: my lovely line sister (LS),Brown ! Now, of course Hawaii has been on my travel bucket list for some time, so it was only appropriate that I visited this gorgeous place that my LS gets to call home.
My arrival to the beautiful island of Oahu occurred just before the start of September, and it was here I experienced a very tasteful Labor Day weekend! During my stay I also had the pleasure of vactioning with my other dear LS, Anaé and da Bruhz, K. For those of you wondering what “Da Bruhz” means it’s a more affectionate or personal name for a brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity inc... I say all this to say that after a hard working summer we were all ready to sit back, relax, and enjoy a well deserved vacation ! And that is exactly we did. You would not believe the amount of fun we had on our 5 day excursion off the mainland, and below I will give you my favorite trip ingredients(moments). Ok I think y’all are ready for the next course !
Favorite Ingredients
1. Wow, it’s so hard to choose my all time favorite moment is Hawaii, but I am going to say hiking to Lulumahu Falls! This was my first official hike, and at the end of the hike awaited a beautiful waterfall. Pictures included in the Chef’s selection :) Side note: if you haven’t gone hiking I highly suggest it. It’s a fun way to get your exercise in !
2. Polynesian Cultural Center (PCC) ! The PCC was such a cool place which taught you about the existing Polynesian islands, in which Hawaii is one. This outdoor wonderland included replications of villages belonging to Fiji, Samoa, Tahiti, and and more. Here we learned the many uses of the coconut tree, and even learned how to cook food underground, which was absolutely amazing ! In addition, we participated in a Luau, which is an absolute must when you visit Hawaii!
3. Parasailing. So I was not kidding about doing a lot of adventurous things, while in Hawaii, and for me parasailing was one of them. Though, a little daunting at first, I had such an amazing time dangling over the Pacific Ocean. The scenery was stunning, and I was in awe over God’s endless beauty.
4. Another favorite moment of mine included sailing yet again, this time it was sailing on the Pacific Ocean in a catamaran sail boat. This experience was also very cool, as we sailed and watched the sun descend to meet the sea, which is reflected in this post main picture. We also met a really fun dude from Toronto who showed us great hospitality during our sail. It was also during this time that I literally came face to face to sea water. As I laid on the netted portion of the boat I peacefully watched the waves of the sea, until the water decided to violently kiss my face which at this point I jumped up in laughter drenched in soaking wet clothes haha, good times!
5. Now the fifth ingredient, quality time. Spending quality time with my Line sisters, and “K” my LS’s lover (yes literally) lol was of course a favorite “coarse” of mine. It was so nice to be fellowshipping miles and miles away from the place where our friendships originally began. I must also note that Brown, was a phenomenal host, who, by the way, made us mimosas from freshly squeezed oranges (yes, LS goals)! But yes, the company of good friends is one that I will always cherish as my favorite of memories!
6. Pineapples ! Ok so this was unplanned, but I had to add a bonus ingredient.
P I N E A P P L E S. You may or may not be aware, but Hawaii is the land of Pineapples, which also happens to be one of my favorites fruits soooooooo you KNOW ya girl was in her element lol haha.
Order to Go?
Well duh, it’s Hawaii. But seriously Hawaii is a fun place for the entire family! Now the island can be a bit a pricey so budgeting and proper preparation for this meal is absolutely key. Once your plan is in place, you are good to go! One thing that is nice about Hawaii for Americans is that you get paradise with out the hassle of exchanging money or risking roaming charges...because after all it is a part of the United States. Which brings to another point, Pearl Harbor. This is something that I wasnt able to explore unfortunately due to lack of time, but I would highly recommend going on a tour for you or your kids educational enrichment !
