Blogsties ! Waddddduppp I'm back with my monthly dish, and am excited for you to take a bite! So here we go. All I need you to do is close your eyes and think about the process that goes into making a meal.
So now that you've had a minute to ponder on this, I'm going to take you through what my journey to the kitchen has taught me about living with commitment.
First, it starts with the store.
Now let me a 100% real with you, I have never been fond of grocery shopping... like ever. As a child, my mother would spend an ungodly amount of hours in the store, and I had the sweet "pleasure" of being right there by her side. So for forever, I purposely spent the least amount of time as possible in your local Giant, Safeway, Trader Joe's etc.... until recently, I realized that commitment is what makes the meal, taste really good.
I now understand that I must be patient, I must take the proper time to find not only the right food, but the best food. So if that means going to an additional store, waiting for that specific brand to become available, or just going the extra mile to insure the meal (life) will be the best it can be, than that's just what has to happen! It all takes time.
Step two. The next step of cooking with commitment is the prep. We have to be committed to proper preparation in order to achieve our life goals. Have you ever heard of the 12 P's? If you are unfamiliar with them, take a minute and google it! Basically it's an alliteration that speaks to the fact that, not being prepared creates bad performance thus proving that preparation and commitment must work hand in hand.
Ok now let's take it back to the kitchen for a minute. If we quickly try to whip up a meal without taking the time to marinate or thaw the food, we will not be creating and or eating the highest quality meal. On the other hand, if we do take the proper time and remain committed to the process, then that meal is going to be one full of flavor and overall success! It is essentially our choice.
Step three. Turning up the heat. The food has now been purchased, prepared, and ready for cooking but in order to complete the process we have to keep the heat on. It's the only way to the finish line. The is the same with commitment. In order to reach our goals, we have to keep the fire going. It is imperative that we remain both encouraged and enthusiastic about the purpose that God has planted within us !
Step four, serve. This is my favorite part of the process. Partly because I love love love to indulge in food, but mostly because of those who will be sharing it with me. When I think about who maybe eating the food I prepared, it makes me think about the benefits of commitment. When fully committed to something or someone the fruit of your work directly impacts another.
There is so much beauty when we remain fully committed to our purpose and love ones. So let's do it right. I encourage you to stay committed, don't give up or give in, instead join me on the winning team....#TeamCommitted!
