Ello! Mind if we chat over some English tea?

For today's dish I've decided to travel back to lovely city of London.

Like many people across the globe I have been literally spooning over the recent Royal Wedding! I mean wasn’t it just amazing and full of so much love and diversity ?! It was so beautiful that it caused me to immediately reminisce on my own travels to the United Kingdom... So here we are :)

The Meal

So what brought me to the land of high tea and British royalty, you ask ? Well I have my momma to thank for that.

Due to her working in the international division of her agency, she traveled very often and would always take me, her one and only beloved daughter, with her! There is NO doubt that the traveler in me was birthed through my mother’s determination to have me see different parts of God's creation, and for that I am extremely grateful!

As a matter of fact, my travel to London was actually my very first international trip ever !So yes, it was here that my love for traveling was born...and as you can imagine, London continues to hold a very special place in my heart♥.

Despite not having any physical photographs of my time in London, (and being pretty young, maybe about eleven years old) the memories I made in this city are very much so vivid. So what are we waiting for? This English tea is ready for sippin'!

Favorite Ingredients

1. Getting Lost in Hyde Park - What a memory (LOL)... luckily I wasn't both lost and alone, I was actually with my father exploring until we realized we did not know how to get back to the place in which we started. So we literally just walked around and around which was probably hours, and until this day, I have no clue how we made it back to the hotel that day lol But it made for a great memory and time of bonding with my Dad.

2. Changing of the Guards - Witnessing the changing of the Guards at the famous Buckingham Palace was surely a treat. This is one of those experiences that is quite hard to transcribe in words, so I would encourage you to make plans to see this yourself, or search it on Youtube if that is more of your flow... lol

3.Visiting Historical Sites and Landmarks - One of my favorite aspects about London is the history that it holds, and some of the landmarks and locations that speak to the history of the United Kingdom. Some of the places that I had the privilege to ride or see were the Big Ben, riding on the Eye, viewing/standing over the London Bridge, and visiting the original Madame Tussauds Museum. All places were very intriguing and interesting to view.

4. Shopping - Now what’s a trip with out some good ole shopping ? ... not a trip if you ask me haha, but the good or shall I say great thing is that London had lots of it. One department store that particularly stands, out in my memory, is Harrod’s. I remember like it was yesterday roaming through the racks with my mother as we browsed through the hundreds of clothes and jewelry in this very fine and luxurious store. Definitely a place I am hoping to get back to at some point in time in my adult life.

5. The Underground - Taking a ride along the underground, subway system in London was also pretty cool. Ok I maybe Im just weird, but I kind of have a thing for comparing and contrasting public transportation systems around the world lol So far I think Germany has everyone beat. Do you have any weird travel traditions? If so comment below, I would love to hear about them !

6. Lion King - Now of course, I had to save the very best for last. That’s why dessert comes after dinner right ? Well my "dessert” from visiting London was seeing a live play of the Lion Key. This experience was like non other! Let's face it, if you a real human being then you understand that Lion King is one of the greatest movies to be ever written and produced... so imagine my joy of seeing it again, in live form. It was simply Phenomenal !!!

Order to Go ?

I would certainly suggest a trip to London, especially if this will be you or your child's first time traveling out the country. Because London is an English speaking country (they did make up the language lol) it provides for a seamless travel experience. Also, the journey it self is only about eight hours from Washington D.C. , which is pretty feasible for international travel. All in all, whether you are an experienced traveler or not, London is certainly a go from me... just don't forget to pack your umbrella !

That's all for today's dish, bloggsties! If you have anymore questions or comments hit me up on my social accounts ! I truly look forward to serving you the next course in the coming weeks ! Until then, be blessed !

Always served with love,

Dri ♥
